The reboot titled Reading Rainbow Live comes after a more than 15-year hiatus. The original show was hosted by actor and executive producer LeVar Burton, but creative director Amy Guglielmo says that the new series will feature a diverse cast of actors from different cultural backgrounds. The aim is to allow all the children watching to see themselves in the actors, called “The Rainbows,” so their engagement with the material is stronger. Reading Rainbow Live also promises to feature a diverse range of stories and literature from different cultural backgrounds. The show will involve diverse creators behind the scenes and feature various authors and settings. via WordPress https://ift.tt/Oo0lUY1

Reruns continued to be shown on-air until 2009, but no new content was made for 16 years. The return of Reading Rainbow, now titled Reading Rainbow Live, is precipitated by the needs of parents stuck inside during the COVID-19 pandemic with children at home whose education has been disrupted. The new show aims to use music and performance to get children excited to read and learn, a purpose for which the new creative director has selected a diverse cast of performers and reading material. via WordPress https://ift.tt/E1crbqS A partner in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois with experience in the media and entertainment sector, Steven C. Children interested in acting may need help from their parents to start their acting careers. Besides assisting them emotionally and supporting them throughout this project, parents are typically responsible for most things child actors need to start in this world. Every actor needs at least four things to start their career: an acting résumé, headshots, a demo reel, and audition materials. For instance, headshots are 8x10-inch color photos that casting directors use to get candidates' first impression for a role. For a child, who grows fast and needs to update headshots frequently, high-quality portraits taken on a smartphone may be sufficient. When it comes to creating a résumé for beginning child actors, professional experience may be sparse. However, that is typically not a problem. Instead, experts advise parents to include their child’s unique skills, sports or physical activities, hobbies, personality traits and strengths, and services to the community. As a video compilation of the child’s best on-screen performances, a demo reel is not required for most beginning child actors. However, after they get some experience, parents should compile three to five clips to boost their child's chances of earning a role. Lastly, it is good for the child to have memorized parts of a song and two short monologs. This way, they have some material ready for auditions. |
