After a decade as a founding partner of the firm Rudolph & Beer, experienced entertainment Attorney Steven C. Beer joined the New York City legal practice, Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell, and Vassallo. Steven C. Beer was instrumental in negotiating a deal with media producer and distributor, the Nacelle Company, for screening rights for the award-winning documentary Dons of Disco. The film follows the true story of the 1980s’ Italian pop sensation, Den Harrow.
Model and singer Den Harrow, real name Stefano Zandri, released several top-performing hits during the peak of the Italo Disco movement. However, due to his mediocre singing skills, Harrow’s producer Roberto Turatti chose to replace Harrow’s vocals with those of Tom Hooker, an American musician. For many years, the two agreed to keep the arrangement secret. However, when Hooker asked to include some of the Den Harrow songs into his private show, his request was denied by producers. This began a long-standing feud between the two. The Dons of Disco documentary centers on the effort of Den Harrow fan and producer Jonathan Sutak to get to the bottom of the disagreement and convince the artists to reunite.
